You’ll need a copy of the Windows 95 install disk to install into an image file. While there is a free version, the paid app is well worth the price.

The linked DosBox Magic tutorial has a ZIP package containing some programs and drivers you’ll eventually install in Windows 95.If you have a physical disk, you’ll have to rip it into an ISO file. From the No Mutants Allowed post, download this package of empty IMG files. If you’re on Windows, install WinImage.
If you’re on Linux or Mac, you’ll use some terminal commands explained below. There really isn’t any way to improve on the way bruenor, creator of DosBox Magic, shows installing Windows 95 in the first 2 videos linked above. The process took me around an hour and is intensive, so you’ll want to set aside time for this part.
In VirtualBox, create a new VM with Windows 95 as the guest OS. Click on the new VM, then click Settings. In System -> Motherboard, turn off floppy boot. In System -> Acceleration, turn off Nested Paging AND VT-x/AMD-V. In Storage, mount the Windows 95 install ISO to the Controller: IDE -> Optical Drive. Once the desktop has loaded, copy the “Win95” folder from the install disk to the Desktop.Boot into your Windows 95 VM again and wait for it to finish setup. In System -> Motherboard -> Boot Order, uncheck Optical.Īfter installation is complete, change this setting. This step will take a little while as it re-formats the IMG file and installs Windows. The install disk should boot up automatically. Right click in the white space, then click “Properties”. Click on “Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA)”, then click the “Remove” button at the bottom. If you’re on Windows, open a Command Prompt in the folder containing the convertVHDToIMG program described in bruenor’s video. Vboxmanage internalcommands converttoraw /path/to/win95.vhd win95.img On your Android device, create a folder to hold these files, something like “Win95”. Copy win95.img and Win95_Install.mgc to this folder on your device. Open DosBox Magic on your Android device. Import the Win95_Install.mgc file you copied earlier. Edit this profile to match your device’s folder.
